Night Game Drive in Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara is an ideal location for a night game drive, featuring diverse ecosystems, including a lake, rift valley cliffs, groundwater forest, and the nearby Ngorongoro Highlands. This rich environment hosts a variety of wildlife, with elusive animals becoming particularly active after dark.

During your night drive, keep an eye out for genets, civet cats, and porcupines, as well as the massive hippos foraging near the roadside. Leopards frequently roam the park, and while sightings aren’t guaranteed, they are common. Lions are often more active at night, offering a chance to see them engaging in more than just lounging in the shade.

Your adventure begins around 8:00 PM, heading into the dense groundwater forest. You’ll follow the Simba River to the hippo pools before returning to the forest, concluding your drive at the park gate around 10:30 PM. Experience Lake Manyara from a whole new perspective with Ankwa Tours and Safaris.
